Lazy Day

The rain and wind backed off yesterday afternoon and I got a chance to do what I do best ... nothing. Heh ... The top pic is of the sunrise that greeted me this morning at 0600. And since I did nothing but goof off and eat yesterday, I figgered I'd throw up a couple pics of the stateroom. Yes, we're at the back of the ship (by choice) because the balconies are bigger and the privacy factor is increased (you figure it out).

A bit of excitement last evening. About 2000 (8 pm) we made a detour toward Hatteras to rendezvous with a Coast Guard helicopter. They MedEvac-ed a crewperson off the ship whose appendix burst. The op took place on the bow and I tried to get a look but they cleared all the forward compartments just in case. It was dark and I didn't want to take a pic, knowing the flash would probably fuck up the chopper pilot. Good job on all parts, Noordam's crew and the always-professional Coasties. Once the chopper split, Captain Hans took us on a speed run which had Noordam at 30 kts for a few hours (this baby can fly when she wants to) and we're back on schedule.

Let's see.... a balcony, moon, stars, sea froth in the wake, a babe- errr I mean the lovely and charming Mrs F.

Nope. Can't think of a single reason to want privacy.
